Week 28 Polka Dots

Ever since Madagascar 3 I can't seem to get this song out of my head when I Polka Dots.

This song makes me crack up

As you can see my nails are still short but I did what I could do with them. I choose these colours since I was going to be attending a Birthday Party for my Hubs close friend's daughter who turned 1. She is such a doll. Anyway the colours are represented on the dress that I wore, Sorry I forgot to take a picture of the dress.

It was a tube dress with a lot of Indian designs (elephant, lotus) things like that, it shouldn't come as a surprise since I bought it at an Indian Store. (hehehe).

The top was black and there were workings of white flowers, with red and grey and some blue which as you can see I didn't put any blue.

So I did my nail using Santee Black and then using my newly bought Dotting Tools I made dots using red and grey and to make the accent nail stand out a bit more I added some white which I didn't too like but it was too late to change it so I had to leave it as it was. BUMMER

Have you ever tried doing dots, do you like them?

I'm supposed to be going out with some friends to day for my birthday lime (that's next Tuesday) so I'll cut this post short.

Remember to follow and you can always check out our Facebook page Just for the fun of it to see more of our challenge.

Week 27 Blazing Red

HAPPY FRIDAY everyone *cough cough*
I made it through the night and I'm feeling a little better so I'm playing catch up with my challenge posts.
This particular week we had to do Red. ugh.....

I don't particularly like Red nail polish (it stains too much).

Since I'm not fond of red and didn't necessarily have to wear this mani long i just did the accent nails in Kleancolor Red Hot and I have been wracking my brain trying to figure out what was the other colour I used and I just can't seem to remember.. All I know is that it's a kinda pinky colour and it seems to have micro glitters.

My nails had started to break to I cut them all off and went down to nubbies.

I really like this red since it have a really jelly look and has huge hex glitters.

This is how it looks in the sun light

I hope you all enjoyed it so don't forget to follow me or just leave a comment.

Bye lovelies

Mini Haul - Ryan's, Pennywise, Santa's and $10.00 Store

I know I usually just haul nail polish but this time I thought I'd share with you some of the other things i've dicovered. So this is just a really mini haul of somethings miscellaneous things I picked up at Ryan's, Pennywise, Santa's and the ever popular Super $10 stores.

I have really thick  hair (I'm mixed) and my hair was so unruly that no matter what I tried it never seemed to stay neat. Hubby loved my curly hair but he couldn't bare my constant complaining about how long it took to comb my hair or style it whenever I had to go anywhere. He finally gave in and I relaxed my hair, so I now had straight hair and could do with it as I please. I eventually got tired of the straight hair so I'm back to natural and have as usual dry and somewhat unruly hair. Anyway I bought this Raw Shea Butter Oil at Santa's for $12.99 and I can say I really like it since it's actually keeping my hair moist. This I well definitely continue to purchase.

I ran out of my normal Make up remover face wiped and Pennywise had such a long line I really didn't want to go in. I only had intentions of going to Santa's to see what they had new. I'm sure this happens to you all, you go in just to look around and end up coming out with a bag full of items.... Impulse buy.
I got this remover in Aloe and I must say, it takes off make up fairly well not 100% but I find that it prevents your face from being all oily. If I use it before I go to bed when I wake in the morning my face is not oily like it usually gets. I like it just for a face wipe, not a make up remover.

I am one of those girls that really hate to shave and I say hate with a passion. I wax my eyebrows whenever I feel like it (that means once every 2  months) and I'm worse at shaving anywhere other than my arms * I know tmi***
This is my first time trying this shaver and as you can see it was quiet cheap $7.95 in Pennywise for 5 so I'll give it a go and see how it works.

I have been looking for these exacto knives at least I think that's what they're called. I found them in the $10 store along with a 2 hole paper punch, so instead of 1 I now have 3.. Yay me.

My pencils always seem to disappear on work so I got these 2 imitation mechanical pencils again for only $10.00. Now I'm sure no one will go with these.  *Fingers crossed*

And last but not least my favorite part of the haul I got 4 magnetic polishes at $10.99 a piece and a Jordana Orange Rush for only $8.99.
I'll do some swatches for you all when I start to feel better.
I have the first colour and the third. The other 2 were given to Meera over at Pajamas and Pearls, I for her and the other for Roanna. I hope they like it.

I think I'm heading to bed so until next time.

Have a good weekend incase you don't hear from me tomorrow.

Nite nite

Week 26 Blue Water marble

Good morning all
I'm writing this post and still feeling so sleepy even though we just had a three day weekend. Our country of Trinidad and Tobago celebrated Republic Day yesterday, though I did nothing but lie in bed and watch TV all day I am feeling ever exhausted.
Hope this coffee wakes me up soon.

This is my Water Marble, I'm not to fond of doing water marbles and I'm sure you can see why.

I think this one came out the best after all the trying I did. Please excuse me but i did not clean up too well since I immediately took it off.

See what I mean no hope for me in the world of water marbling, My middle finger and thumby was the best.

I see if I could at least salvage it a little I mattified it, but unfortunately that didn't even work.

I have to do some more work on that water marble technique.

I hoped you like it and even if you didn't I understand. I still love you guys.

Take care.

Week 25 - Black & White

We especially put in this theme because we both really wanted to do a black and white mani. We started this challenge in February so we were really excited when it was finally picked. Since I had seen many people doing this design I really wanted to try it and what 2 colours would go best Black and White you can't go wrong there.

I didn't want to do a black base since I tend to gravitate more to dark colours when I am doing my nails so I did the base in Arista white, Arista is a local here in Trinidad & Tobago, they even have eyeshadows and other cosmetics. The black I used was Santee Black a really creamy black which only requires 1 coat when wearing as a base.

If you want to learn how to do this technique you can watch this tutorial by NailsKathy.

My nails aren't that long so I didn't want them to be overwhelmed by all the lines so I didn't do too much.

Most of my manis are done at night when I'm actually at home so I don't usually have pictures of them in the sunlight even though we do get a lot of sun.

Would you try this? Would you wear this mani?

Let me know your views on it.

I have some hauks to do and guess what the September Glitzy Glam Bag is hear so you'll get to see what I got soon.

Stay tuned.

See you later lovelies.

Week 24 - Movie Inspired

I'm sure by now after seeing these pictures you have guessed which movie I was inspired by. At the time that I did this mani Hunger Games was in every cinema. I read the books after I watched the movie which I found were really interesting.

I got my inspiration for this mani after google surfing looking for the right look, I eventually tried to recreate The Nailasaurus mani. It had a different element each symbolizing the hunger games.

Thumb is a 12 depicting District 12, Index: HG for Hunger Games, Middle: It's supposed to be the broach that Katniss wore, Ring Finger: The Flames and Pinky: the Bow that she uses.

Here's a better pic

Hope you liked my depiction of the Hunger Games, I do hope they do the second part soon.

Until next time keep polishing.

Later dolls.
